Most safari companies are on the mainland and add a beach at the end. Most Zanzibar operators sell day trips. We are based in Stone Town and plan both halves as one journey. That is why our flagship trip flies you from the island straight over the Ngorongoro Crater into the Serengeti, and back to the beach three nights later.

A day on the water, on a wooden dhow
Sail out to the reef, snorkel over hard coral in a metre or two of water, eat a grilled lunch on a sandbank, drift through the mangrove lagoon, and sail home as the sun goes down. No certificate and no experience needed: we bring the masks and the crew swim with you.

We own no lodges; we choose them. Every one of the 46 places on the site is named in one of our itineraries, from a seafront house in Stone Town to a camp under the Natron volcano. Each page says why we use it and which trips sleep there.
